Something to be thankful for: Real turkeys make a comeback | Grist.

Industrially bred turkeys have a short life span, cannot breed on their own and would never survive in the wild.  There are many varieties of turkey that were almost completely lost to the national food market.  Some people are making sure these tastier “heirloom” turkeys are here to stay.
